Comprehensive lipid and metabolite profiling of children with and without familial hypercholesterolemia: A cross-sectional study

In this paper, children with and without familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) were metabolically profiled to identify potential lipid-related metabolic alterations associations.

Results indicated that hypercholesterolemia in FH children increases atherogenic apoB-containing lipoproteins and lipid fractions, and also potentially impairs reverse cholesterol transport.
