Software Developer (Data Science)

Nightingale Health is looking for a Software Developer to join our data science team. Our team of talented and experienced software developers and data scientists discovers new health insights by analysing how our biomarkers predict health outcomes in data from up to one million people.

We build robust, scalable software to enable rapid exploration of these big datasets with modern statistical and machine learning analyses. Our focus is on working fast to bring these scientific discoveries into products for our customers to bring preventative healthcare to as many people as possible, as soon as possible.

Here’s what you'll do:

  • Be part of our agile software development and data science team and work with all parts of the technology stack.
  • Develop the core systems, APIs and infrastructure that are the foundation of our health insights.
  • Work with modern microservice and container technologies.
  • Get an opportunity to dive deeper into biotech in a fast-growing health industry.

Technologies you'll work with:

Python, R, MLFlow, AWS, Docker, PostgreSQL.

You’ll be a perfect fit if you:

  • Have at least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in software development in a data science environment.
  • Have a pragmatic and proactive attitude and you’re all about producing good, testable and high-performance code.
  • Enjoy building robust and scalable solutions that are made to last.
  • Enjoy taking ownership in developing our core systems in the long run.

We also value these skills:

  • Exposure to molecular epidemiology (e.g. metabolomics or genetics in population datasets).
  • Experience with data analysis in Python & R.
  • DevOps experience in CI/CD systems and cloud environments.
  • Experience in cloud environments such as AWS and container orchestration platforms, such as Kubernetes.
  • Can implement CI systems and automated testing.

This is a full-time position based in Helsinki. Please note that we don't offer relocation.
