Press release, 8 March 2023 at 1:30 p.m. (EET)

Nightingale Health Plc (“Nightingale Health”), a technology company promoting preventative health with its proprietary health risk detection platform, has analyzed and delivered to Estonian Biobank the analysis results from blood samples of 200,000 Estonian Biobank participants.

Nightingale Health and Estonian Biobank announced in 2021 their long-term strategic collaboration constituting an initiative to empower the population of Estonia with modern tools of personalized medicine to realize early disease prevention. The participants of the Estonian Biobank represent approximately 20% of the Estonian adult population, which makes it a very significant health database also on an international scale. The completion of the analysis of 200,000 samples further validates the suitability of Nightingale Health’s health risk detection platform for population-level health initiatives.

The results analyzed from each Estonian Biobank’s blood sample by Nightingale Health’s blood analysis technology include 250 biomarkers, of which 39 are clinically validated and can be used in the same way as traditional clinical biomarkers. The collaboration between Nightingale Health and Estonian Biobank enables the biomarker data from 200,000 samples to be used to advance scientific medical research. In addition, the data will be used to bring novel health insights, such as health risk estimates, to the biobank participants to enable disease prevention.
